From the Ambassador
It gives me a great pleasure to welcome you to the official portal of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco to the UK. It has been my privilege and honour to be appointed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI as His Ambassador to the Court of St James's since February 2009.
Morocco and the UK are bound by long standing historical, political and commercial ties that can be traced as far back as to the 13th century, when King John sent his first envoy to Marrakech; while the First Moroccan Ambassador to the UK, Jaudar Benabdallah was appointed in 1637 and the first commercial and trade exchanges were launched by English private traders in 1551.
Today, those historical and commercial ties and heritage that have been cemented over centuries have yielded a particularly strong and important partnership in many fields, as evidenced by the Ministerial dialogue forum which was set up in 2006 between our two countries. The fourth round of this forum held on 2nd June 2009 in London, highlighted the two Kingdoms' resolve to give a boost to a strategic partnership in all areas, namely in politics, economy, trade and culture.
As Ambassador of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, I will spare no effort to protect and safeguard, in the best possible way, the interests of the members of the Moroccan community living in the UK, be them individuals or institutions.
I will also endeavour to enhance our bilateral cooperation in all possible fields and give a fresh impetus to the development of a fruitful and mutually advantageous partnership between our two countries, as instructed by His Majesty the King.
This website is designed to provide practical information to all visitors who wish to learn about Morocco's long and rich history and its modern success stories in the political, economic, cultural and human development fields, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
I hope that this website will become a valuable tool in promoting mutual understanding between Moroccan and British people at large, and will stimulate the British to visit my country in great numbers.
Thank you for visiting our website.

Ambassador of His Majesty the King of Morocco
