Mr. Salaheddine MEZOUAR, appointed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI as Minister of Economy and Finance, was born on December 11th, 1953 in Meknes.
Mr. MEZOUAR holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France, a Higher Degree in Management from ISCAE in Casablanca, a Postgraduate degree from the University of Social Sciences in Grenoble, France, and a Master
degree in economic science from the same university. From 1986 to 1991 he was a department head and Chargé de mission at the Ports Authority (ODEP), before taking up the position of general manager in a private textile company.
Mr. MEZOUAR was also president of the Moroccan Association for Textile and Clothing Industries (AMITH), as well as president of the Textile and Leather Federation within the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM).
In 2004 Mr. MEZOUAR was appointed Minister of Industry, Trade and Economy Upgrading. He is a member of the central committee of the National Rally of Independents (RNI) and an ex-vice-president of the Raja Club Athletic. Mr. MEZOUAR has had a distinguished sporting career as a basketball player, including as a captain of the national basketball team.
Mr. MEZOUAR is married and has two children
