London Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthen Economic Cooperation with Morocco

London - The British government on Monday reaffirmed its commitment to strengthen relations of cooperation with Morocco in all fields.

"The British government is committed to working closely with Morocco" to strengthen these relations, Under Secretary of State at the Foreign Office Alistair Burt said.

The official, who was speaking at the opening of the first Moroccan-British day on strengthening bilateral trade, which is taking place in London, noted that his government attaches great importance to such meetings, which shows Morocco's determination to remain actively engaged in the international arena.

Burt also highlighted the importance of the conference that was held in November 2009 at the headquarters of the Mansion House on investment opportunities in Morocco.
This conference, organized at the initiative of Morocco’s Ambassador in London Chrifa Lalla Joumala Alaoui, brought together over 500 British and international businessmen to inquire about the enormous potential that Morocco offers especially in terms of investment.

“The government of HM King Mohammed VI adopts relevant policies to enhance economic development,” Burt said, noting that London will spare no effort to strengthen relations between the two friendly countries
