Chrifa Lalla Joumala Alaoui Presents her credentials to Queen Elisabeth IILondon - Chrifa Lalla Joumala Alaoui was received Thursday at the Palace of Buckingham in London, by Queen Elisabeth II of England to whom she presented her credentials as Ambassador of Morocco to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Talks during the audience centered on the development efforts made by Morocco under the leadership of King Mohammed VI.
In a speech made at a reception hosted after the audience, Chrifa Lalla Joumala Alaoui expressed her great pride and honour to have been appointed as King Mohammed VI's Ambassador to the United Kingdom, with whom Morocco is bound by long-standing historical, political and commercial ties and with whom "we share a multitude of common values and a wide variety of common interests".
The Ambassador recalled that the diplomatic relations between Morocco and the United Kingdom date back to the 17th century, adding that the first Moroccan ambassador in London, Jaudar Ben Abdallah, was appointed in 1637 and the first commercial and trading exchanges go back to 1551.
The historical and commercial ties and heritage that we have cemented over the centuries can pave the way to a stronger and more important partnership in all spheres, said Chrifa Lalla Joumala Alaoui, mentioning the setting up in 2006 of a ministerial dialogue between the two kingdoms.
