"We want to build on the results of the first annual conference on investments in Morocco, held last November in London," said Foreign Office and Commonwealth Office minister for the Middle-East and North Africa, Ivan Lewis, at a meeting with the press.
He stressed that the conference should be perceived as the beginning of a process geared towards giving more strength to the special relation between Britain and Morocco through an enhanced trading partnerships.
Lewis, who visited Morocco last November, added that his "very positive" trip allowed him to note a thirst of Moroccan officials and business community for better relations with British businesses and for more British investments in Morocco.
The official called for maintaining the momentum generated by the successful London conference on investments in Morocco to get the British businesses more engaged and more aware of the opportunities offered by Morocco.
“Relations between our two countries are very warm, and got stronger in recent times,” he went on to say, adding that there are really significant business opportunities in Morocco.
“In a recession there is also an opportunity to look for new markets and new partners,” said Lewis, before concluding that Morocco is a market that British businesses and industries should be looking at.
