HM the King inaugurates in Afourar new solidarity-based projects for youth
23/05/2014

The unwavering commitment by HM King Mohammed VI for the promotion of young people's conditions was mirrored again, on Friday, through the projects inaugurated by the sovereign in the city of Afourar (Azilal Province).

They are a center for youth capacity-building and a house for female students, carried out by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity for an amount of 4.9 million dirhams.

These projects show the monarch's interest in promoting the human capital, a cornerstone for any development policy, and his steadfast will to provide all society's segments, mainly the underprivileged, with means for social and economic integration.

The center for youth capacity-building will help the beneficiaries to reinforce their competences and promote their social and economic conditions through literacy courses and training on income-generating jobs.

Built over 1,500 square meters, the new center hosts classrooms for literacy, remedial courses, foreign languages, computer science, and hairdressing, a multi-purpose room and a room for youth's support and guidance.

Worth 2.5 mln dirhams, the center will be managed by the association of "Al-Intilaka for Development, Environment and Culture-Afourar".

The house for female students, also inaugurated by the sovereign, is a facility that will welcome, support and help schooled rural young girls blossom. It is meant to fight school drop-out in the rural area.

Carried out for 2.4 mln MAD, the house stretches over a surface area of 2,000 square meters. Its management was entrusted to the National Office for Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE).
